Version 1.7 is mainly a maintenance update and has no new functionality. It is required to use the latest plugins.
  • All nags have been removed when unlicenced.
  • Previously uploaded photos are again recognised as such so you can update your photos on Flickr, SmugMug, 23 and VOX.
  • The Flickr plugin has been updated and now sets the location of pictures that do not have it embedded, or if you don't have the import from EXIF option enabled on the Flickr site.
  • The Photobucket plugin has been updated and now uses their official API so should be more reliable.
  • The Fotki and Flickr plugins will now check their connections and load large lists of albums much, much faster.
  • There's a new Zooomr plugin, this is however not officially supported by Zooomr as they've not yet finished/granted access to their API. You can use it for uploading (with annotations), but not updating. Special keywords are supported and there's a default permissions setting. You can also Geocode/Geotag if you have save annotations enabled (existing locations are preserved). Note that it currently appears to be randomly (and incorrectly) reporting uploads as failed.
  • 23 has a separate plugin again, but you can also still use the server setting in the Flickr plugin.
  • You can now run PictureSync if your default language is multi-byte (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, …) without any odd errors. There's also now a localisable strings file (albeit not comprehensive).
  • The !Private special keyword now really means private (no one will be able to see these photos), if you want to set permissions to "Friends & Family" add both "!Friends" and "!Family" separately.
To update to this version simply choose 'Check for Updates' from the Help menu, and relaunch; or add an account as usual (via the first-run assistant or Window:Accounts:Add). If you're a new user download from the main site.

[Update] Just heard from Kristopher at Zooomr and the issues mentioned will be resolved when Mark III is launched soon.

Jacob at PictureSync from Bangalore said: All the existing plugins still work. (Except Photobucket for which the new one is required, and Bubbleshare which is currently broken but will get a new plugin shortly.) Use the normal add account button in PictureSync to use existing non-beta plugins.
