To purchase a licence simply launch the application, and open the PictureSync menu and choose ‘Licence…’, then click the ‘Licence Details’ button.
Your browser will open a web page where you can choose your method of payment and enter a coupon code if you have one.
- With PayPal — complete your purchase, optionally set a password for your licence, then return to PictureSync and your licence will automatically activate.
- With eSellerate — complete your purchase, then follow the instructions in the email that you will receive a little while later from us (not eSellerate) to activate your licence.
You may also purchase PictureSync Pro only through this link and your licence will be issued manually.
PictureSync Licences
- Free: Maximum one account and three rules.
- $10 Standard: No restrictions on accounts or rules.
- $20 Pro: Use with Expression Media and Aperture; includes a second licence for use on an additional computer.
Expression Media and Aperture may be evaluated without a Pro licence but you will be shown an upgrade reminder upon each use.

Purchasing
Payment is carried out through one of the third part payment providers, we never have access to your payment details, however a record is stored by the provider and will give us your contact details (email, and in some cases address). You do not need to setup an account to pay through PayPal.
Registration
Confirms your purchase with our server, and optionally allows you to add a password to your licence should you need to access its details again. You may set yourself a password at any time, and if you prefer to remain anonymous, you may delete the email address or enter a username instead.
Activation
Tells the application that it has been licenced. The application will automatically inform you when it has been activated, however if you paid by a method that is not instant (with a PayPal eCheck, or through eSellerate) you may open the Licence dialog (in the application menu) to manually check activation (such as after reciving confirmation that an eCheck has cleared, or you've carried out the email activation instructions).
Discounts and bulk licencing
NGOs and charities qualify for free licences. We offer discounts for purchases of 5 or more licences only. Please contact us with details of your organisation and requirements. Note that you can achieve a 50% discount on Pro licences by virtue of each one including a secondary licence, however they must be purchased and setup individually. We can however invoice for and setup multiple licences on request.
Questions
Please note that automatic reminders can only be sent to the registered email address, if you are changing your address be sure to update it on your licence. If your licence is registered with a username (not an email address) we cannot provide reminders so be sure to remember your licence registration.
1. What if my hard disk fails and I need to reinstall? Simply restore your disk from your backup, and the application will work normally (the licence activation is stored in the preference file in your home Library folder). If you don't have a backup, see the next question.
2. What if I need to install onto a clean system, or another computer? Launch the application and click the Purchase or Activate button, then on the licence web page enter your email address (or username) and password that were provided during registration, when you return to the application it will activate automatically.
3. I didn't register a password and need to reinstall! Simply enter the email address used with your purchase as above, but without a password and you will be emailed a registration link. If you no longer have access to that email address submit a support request with your original payment details.
4. I want a copy of my licence details, in case automatic activation becomes unavailable. You can request a copy be emailed to you during registration, you may also look them up at any time on the Licence page (click the Edit/Details button in the Licence dialog of the application).
5. How do I activate a licence if the site and automatic activation becomes unavailable? Firstly you should make sure you have a backup (see question 1), otherwise you should make a note of your licence number (see question 4). If the site is unavailable the application will give you an option to manually enter your licence details in the Licence dialog.
Secondary Licences
Only Pro licences are valid for use on a secondary computer. (Purchases prior to July '07 may be valid.) Pro licence upgrades are also available.
To create a secondary licence: In your activated copy of PictureSync, choose 'Licence...' from the PictureSync menu, and click the activate/details button. On the webpage create a secondary licence in the relevent section by specifying the desired username (or email address) and password for it. Be sure to note the details down as it is not generally possible to look them up again (see below).
To activate a secondary licence: Choose 'Licence...' from the PictureSync menu in an unactivated copy of PictureSync, and click the activate/details button. Enter the username and password that you created a licence for. Return to PictureSync and it should be activated.
If you have lost the details for a secondary licence: You can retrieve a password reminder if you created the licence with an email address by entering just that on the licence page, otherwise the details cannot be retrieved. It is not possible to lookup usernames or passwords without an email address as secondary licences are not linked to the original licence.
