Who is Holocore

Holocore is the brainchild of Jacob Jay a British designer and developer (but not really a programmer) with a shed-load of ideas. Jacob is to be found on Twitter (blurts), Flickr (photos), and his work weblog. There's some history of Holocore releases in his personal weblog - including the origins of the logo.

What is Holocore

Holocore is a so-called micro-ISV (independant software vendor). It's products are:

  • OnDeck was the first product, released in May 2003; an elegant and efficient utility for viewing and uploading iTunes album artwork and track details with functions not found in other applications. This is not currently maintained.
  • PictureSync is Holocore's second application, released in October 2004; a convenient application that simplifies uploading photos from photo-management applications to photo-hosting websites, whilst also providing annotation editing functions normally only found in pro-applications.
  • Subsume, released in July 2007 was an experiment in connecting people and their presence (currently supporting Facebook, MySpace and Bonjour status updates). Not currently maintained.
Partnering

Holocore welcomes opportunties to work with other developers, and solutions providers to develop combined offerings that expand and enhance the user experience. Please see the partner page for more details.
