Holocore is pleased to provide this free unsupported utility for your Mac that makes downloading community photos from the Webshots site a breeze.

Save the photos to iPhoto or your Pictures folder (preserving titles).
Set the photos as your screen saver (one-click configuration).
Set the photos as your desktop (ask, always or never).

See below for further help. Please note that this utility has been independently developed by Holocore and is provided as a convenience only, it is not intended to be a fully-featured solution to Mac support for Webshots users.

Installation

Once you've downloaded and uncompressed it simply place the application somewhere on your hard drive (Applications/Utilities would be a good place) then when you download from Webshots it will launch and process the pictures.

If you have trouble getting WBZ Helper to work with iPhoto you can turn off iPhoto support in WBZ Helper's preferences and it will instead save downloads to your Pictures folder.
If WBZ Helper does not launch automatically you may also double-click your .wbz downloads to process them.
You may need to set WBZ Helper as your default helper for .wbz/.wbp/.wb1 files for it to work automatically—find a .wbz/.wbp/.wb1 file you downloaded, select it, choose 'Get Info' from the File menu, then in the 'Open with' panel make sure to choose WBZ Helper and click 'change all'.

Webshots Desktop

This has been discontinued and there is currently no solution for exporting images from Webshots Desktop. If you wish to have .wbz/.wbp files automatically processed as you download them from the Webshots website, but still have a copy of Webshots Desktop installed you must first delete it (or archive it).
