* PictureSync cannot resize or convert to MPEG format at present, therefore to upload your videos must already be in this format when you open them into PictureSync, and you must disable conversion.
Importing
Use the usual methods of import. Via drag and drop, QuickTime annotations will also be imported (see the metadata page).
Requirements
Your videos must have the extension '.mov', '.mpg', '.avi', 'mp4', or '.3gp'. For conversion they must be encoded with an available QuickTime codec (QuickTime Player should be able to open and play the video).
Encoding
You can upload the original video file, or you may use the 'Convert with QuickTime' option in the account settings to convert to a QuickTime video optimised for upload (the original file is left untouched). Clips may optionally be trimmed (truncated) to a maxmimum duration specified in the settings. You may specify a trim value of '0' (zero) to upload full clips.
Cross-linking
If you upload a video to a site that does not support videos (but does captions) after one that does (e.g. Vimeo then Flickr), PictureSync will upload poster frames for your videos and automatically link them back to the full video. This allows vistors to a service not supporting videos to view the actual video (or a clip) online. Your video hosting account must be listed at the top of the accounts list in PictureSync (select it and click the move to top button).
You may customise the text appended to the caption to indicate that the image was taken from a video in the preferences.
